This is a recipe that is for all of you cheesecake lovers. This is one of my favorite recipes that my mother-in-law passed on to me. It's simple to make and the bars don't last at our house.

Number Of Ingredients 7

2 (8 ounce) packages crescent rolls (Reduced fat can be used to lighten recipe)
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened (Reduced fat can be used to lighten the recipe.)
1/4-1/2 cup sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon

Steps:

  • Remove roll from the refridgerator 20 minutes ahead of time.
  • Mix together 1 cup of sugar, egg yolk, vanilla and cream cheese in mixer.
  • Place 1 package of crescent rolls in bottom of a greased 9x13 pan.
  • Pour cream cheese mixture over top.
  • Put second package of rolls over top.
  • Beat egg white and spread over the top of rolls.
  • Mix remaining sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle on top.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes.
  • Cuts better if chilled overnight.

CRESCENT ROLL COCONUT LEMON BARS

Lemon and coconut combine with an easy crescent crust to make these luscious bars.

8 oz crescent rolls
1 c sugar
1 c flaked coconut
2 Tbsp flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp grated lemon peel
1/4 tsp salt
2 eggs, slightly beaten
2 Tbsp lemon juice
2 Tbsp butter, melted

Steps:

  • 1. Unroll dough into 2 long rectangles; place in ungreased 13 X 9 inch pan. Press over bottom and 1/2 inch up sides to form crust. Seal perforations.
  • 2. Bake at 375 degrees for 5 minutes.
  • 3. In a medium bowl, combine all filling ingredients. Pour over partially baked crust.
  • 4. Bake at 375 degrees for an additional 12 to 17 minutes or until light golden brown. Cool, cut into bars.

Tips:

  • Use store-bought crescent roll dough to save time and effort.
  • For a sweeter filling, add cinnamon sugar or Nutella to the cream cheese mixture.
  • For a savory filling, add cooked bacon, sausage, or vegetables to the cream cheese mixture.
  • Brush the tops of the bars with melted butter before baking for a golden brown crust.
  • Sprinkle the tops of the bars with powdered sugar or cinnamon sugar before serving.
