CROCK-POT HOT FRUIT

Crock-Pot Hot Fruit image

About 15 years ago I went to a girls get together and one of the women brought this drink/dessert. It was amazing. Whenever I bring it to an event, it is the first thing to go. Great for when the weather gets cold. Leftovers, if there is any, can be reheated and put over vanilla ice cream. Finally, the recipe works whether you use the expensive or the cheapest ingredients around. Can/jar size is approx.

CROCK POT RED HOT APPLESAUCE

Crock Pot Red Hot Applesauce image

My cousin didn't remember where she got this recipe but was happy to pass it on to me last winter. She made her's chucky, but I used my electric stick mixer/blender and made mine smooth right in the crock pot.

Provided by Norma DeRemer @PApride

Categories     Fruit Desserts

Number Of Ingredients 3

10 to 12 - apples, peeled, cored and chopped
3/4 cup(s) hot cimmamon candies
1/3 cup(s) apple juice, unsweetened

Steps:

  • Combine apples, candies and apple juice in a six quart crock-pot.
  • Cover and cook on low heat for 7 to 8 hours or on high heat for 4 hours our until desired consistency.
  • Can be made chucky or smooth as disired.
  • Serve warm or chilled.

Tips:

  • Choose ripe, in-season fruit: This will ensure the best flavor and texture.
  • Use a variety of fruits: This will add flavor and visual appeal to your dish.
  • Don't overcrowd the slow cooker: Leave some space between the pieces of fruit so they can cook evenly.
  • Add just enough liquid: You don't want the fruit to be swimming in liquid, but you also don't want it to be dry. A good rule of thumb is to add about 1/2 cup of liquid for every pound of fruit.
  • Cook on low for 4-6 hours, or on high for 2-3 hours: The cooking time will vary depending on the type of fruit and how ripe it is. Start checking the fruit after the minimum cooking time and continue cooking until it is tender.
  • Serve warm or cold: Hot fruit is a great breakfast or dessert, while cold fruit is a refreshing snack or side dish.

Conclusion:

Crock-pot hot fruit is a simple and delicious way to enjoy your favorite fruits. With just a few ingredients and a little bit of time, you can create a healthy and satisfying dish that the whole family will love. So next time you're looking for a quick and easy recipe, give crock-pot hot fruit a try.
