DEPRESSION CAKE

I can't remember where I found this recipe. It must be called Depression Cake because there are no eggs in it. It tastes great though, especially with chocolate cream cheese frosting, but any frosting recipe can be used.

2 teaspoons water
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder

  • Let cake cool for about 10 minutes before serving.

Tips:

  • Use simple ingredients: Depression cake recipes typically call for basic ingredients that are easy to find and affordable.
  • Don't overmix the batter: Overmixing the batter can result in a tough, dense cake. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Bake the cake in a greased and floured pan: This will help prevent the cake from sticking to the pan.
  • Let the cake cool completely before frosting it: This will help the frosting set properly.
  • Enjoy the cake! Depression cake is a delicious and comforting treat that can be enjoyed by people of all ages.

Conclusion:

Depression cake is a simple, yet delicious cake that has been enjoyed by people for generations. It is a reminder that even in the most difficult of times, there is always something to be grateful for. Next time you're feeling down, try baking a depression cake. It might just be the thing you need to lift your spirits.
