DIET GREEN TEA LEMON JELLO

Diet Green Tea Lemon Jello image

I'm dieting, ugh, and for a treat I've been having Sugar Free Jello. After reading about green tea and how it is supposed to boost your metabolism I thought I'd try to incorporate tea into my diet. Who knows if it works? This is one tasty idea I've had. If you like strong tea then steep the bag longer or use 2 tea bags. I also divvy it into serving sizes using custard cups, but any small vessel will do, I've used coffee cups, too. Cook time is chill time.

COPYCAT GREEN TEA LEMON DRINK

Copycat Green Tea Lemon Drink image

This is my version of Lipton's Diet Lemon Green Tea drink, without all that sodium!!! I always seem to have a drink going and I really hate drinking plain water, so I figure I might as well get some extra benefits by drinking green tea with all those wonderful oxidents. I have to watch my sugar intake, so I purposely made it low in sugar...but this can be flavored to personal preference. I literally make a jug of this each day and go through the whole thing. Serve this hot or cold

Categories     Beverages

Time 5m

Yield 8-10 cups

Number Of Ingredients 3

2 g green tea (1 packet, preferably organic or decaffeinated)
1/2 lemon, juice of
1 tablespoon sugar (or use Splenda)

Steps:

  • Brew the tea in a large tea pot. Timing depends on how strong you like your tea. I usually let it sit for 15 minutes then dilute with hot water if needed.
  • Transfer the liquid to a large jug and add lemon and sugar. Add more sugar if needed. Drink hot or cold.

Tips:

  • Choose high-quality green tea: Opt for loose-leaf or tea bags made from whole, unprocessed green tea leaves. Look for organic or fair-trade brands to ensure quality and sustainability.
  • Use fresh lemon juice: Freshly squeezed lemon juice provides a brighter, more vibrant flavor compared to bottled or concentrated lemon juice.
  • Adjust sweetness to your preference: The amount of honey or sugar used in the recipe is adjustable based on your desired sweetness level. Consider using a natural sweetener like stevia if you prefer a low-sugar option.
  • Chill the jello thoroughly: Make sure the jello is completely chilled and set before serving. This ensures a firm and refreshing texture.
  • Garnish with fresh mint or lemon slices: Add a touch of freshness and visual appeal by garnishing the jello with chopped fresh mint leaves or thin lemon slices.

Conclusion:

Green tea lemon jello is a refreshing, healthy, and delicious treat that can be enjoyed as part of a balanced diet. This simple recipe combines the antioxidant-rich benefits of green tea with the tangy flavor of lemon and the naturally sweet taste of honey. Whether served as a snack, dessert, or a healthy addition to your meal, this jello is a delightful way to enjoy the goodness of green tea and citrus.
