Categories     Cookies

Number Of Ingredients 9

2 1/4 c flour
1/2 c baking cocoa
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 c softened butter
1 c packed brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla
2 large eggs
2 c chocolate chips

Steps:

  • 1. Combine dry ingredients
  • 2. Beat butter, sugars and vanilla in mixing bowl until creamy
  • 3. Beat in eggs until light and fluffy
  • 4. Gradually beat in flour mixture
  • 5. Stir in chocolate chips
  • 6. Drop by rounded tablespoons onto an ungreased baking sheet
  • 7. Bake at 375 for 8-10 minutes
  • 8. Let stand 2 minutes before moving to a wire rack

Tips:

- To ensure your cookies turn out perfectly, use high-quality chocolate chips. Look for brands that use real cocoa butter and a high percentage of cacao solids. - For a richer flavor, use a combination of semi-sweet and dark chocolate chips. - Be careful not to overmix the dough. Overmixing will result in tough cookies. Mix just until the ingredients are combined. - If you don't have a stand mixer, you can make the dough by hand. Just be sure to mix it thoroughly. - Chill the dough for at least 30 minutes before baking. This will help the cookies keep their shape and prevent them from spreading too much. - Bake the cookies until the edges are golden brown and the centers are set. Overbaking will result in dry, crumbly cookies. - Let the cookies cool on a wire rack before serving. This will help them firm up and prevent them from crumbling.
