KITCHEN SINK COOKIES

Kitchen Sink Cookies image

Even though the ingredient list may seem about as long as a grocery shopping list, they're simple to make. In fact, these Kitchen Sink Cookies are so basic you can mix everything by hand; this helps to avoid over-beating, which may toughen the dough.

DUMP BARS

The easiest fudgey brownies you can make without a mix. One of my most requested recipes--even my kids' friends ask for it!

Provided by vosmom2

Categories     Bar Cookie

Time 35m

Yield 13 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 8

2 cups sugar
1 3/4 cups flour
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup cocoa
5 extra-large eggs
1 cup oil
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup chocolate chips

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350 degrees. Spray 9x13 pan with nonstick spray (or nonstick with flour spray).
  • Dump all dry ingredients in a large bowl and stir with a whisk to mix well (my version of sifting).
  • Add all of the "wet" ingredients and stir until mixed well with wooden spoon.
  • Spread in prepared pan and sprinkle the cup (or so) of chocolate chips over the top.
  • Bake at 350 for no more than 30 minute They are done when the edge just starts to pull away from the pan and a toothpick comes out with a little bit of brownie on it. I set my timer for 28 minute to avoid over baking them.

Tips:

  • Use quality ingredients: Fresh, high-quality ingredients will make a big difference in the taste of your cookies. If you can, use organic or locally-sourced ingredients whenever possible.
  • Don't overmix the dough: Overmixing the dough will make your cookies tough. Mix the dough just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Chill the dough before baking: Chilling the dough will help the cookies hold their shape and prevent them from spreading too much. Chill the dough for at least 30 minutes, or up to overnight.
  • Use a cookie scoop: A cookie scoop will help you get evenly-sized cookies. If you don't have a cookie scoop, you can use a tablespoon to measure out the dough.
  • Bake the cookies at the right temperature: The temperature of your oven will affect the texture of your cookies. For chewy cookies, bake them at a lower temperature (325 degrees Fahrenheit). For crispy cookies, bake them at a higher temperature (375 degrees Fahrenheit).
  • Don't overbake the cookies: Overbaking the cookies will make them dry and crumbly. Bake the cookies just until the edges are golden brown and the centers are set.
  • Let the cookies cool completely before storing them: Let the cookies cool completely on a wire rack before storing them. This will help them keep their shape and prevent them from becoming soggy.

Conclusion:

Dump cookies are a delicious and easy-to-make treat that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. With a variety of recipes to choose from, there's sure to be a dump cookie recipe that everyone will love. So next time you're looking for a quick and easy dessert, give dump cookies a try.
