Yield 2 meatloaves, 6-8 serving(s)
Number Of Ingredients 9
Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine meat, bread crumbs, onion, ketchup, eggs, and onion soup mix.
- Use your hands to squish all of the ingredients together until all of the ingredients are well combined.
- Form the meat mixture into two "loaves." At this point, I usually wrap one of the loaves in press and seal freezer wrap and toss it in the freezer. However, if you have a larger family, you'll probably want to cook both.
- Put the two loaves in a 13x9 baking pan and bake for 45 minutes.
- While the loaves are baking, mix up the sauce by stirring the ketchup, the brown sugar, and the mustard together until smooth. Set aside.
- After 45 minutes, take the meat loaves out and spread the sauce over the tops.
- Placed the sauced loaves back in the oven and bake for another 15 minutes or until cooked through.
- Let the meat loaves cool for 5 - 10 minutes before cutting them.
- Enjoy!
- P.S. To cook a frozen meatloaf, take the frozen meat loaf out the day before you want to cook it and let it thaw in the refrigerator. Cook as stated above.
- P.S.S. This meatloaf pairs wonderfully with my super yummy corn casserole!

When I moved out on my own I started experimenting with different recipes and creating my own version. I finally came up with the best meatloaf I have ever made, and I wanted to share it.

YUMMY MEATLOAF
What makes this meatloaf so good is how you cook it! It's very important to cook this in a baking dish rather than a loaf pan. The grease will drain from the meatloaf this way, and it will be firmer and taste better.

BEST MEATLOAF RECIPE EVER (AND EASIEST!)
I don't remember where I found this recipe, on the internet somewhere maybe, but, basically, it's not mine. Definitely not low fat/low carb, but it's the best and easiest meatloaf I've ever had. I make it all the time for my family and they love it. My brother in law always requests that I make two, so he has leftovers the next day. You can substitute a ground meat mixture, or ground turkey for the ground beef.

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 400°F.
- Put meat, french fried onions, and stuffing in bowl. Mix eggs, ketchup, and ranch dressing together separately (easier this way), then dump over other ingredients (meat, stuffing, onions). Mix all together. Shape into loaf (or whatever shape you want) and put on a cookie sheet. (Helps to line cookie sheet with tin foil first- easier clean up). Cover loosely with tin foil and bake 50-60 minutes. Remove foil and top with ketchup, or any topping sauce you like, for the last ten minutes.
- Let cool for at least 10 minutes before cutting.
- **I just want to note that in most ovens, the bottom of this loaf burns. I don't know why, I've tried and tried to keep it from happening to no avail. However, it doesn't matter, I just cut burnt part off, doesn't effect the rest of the loaf. Also, I don't use a loaf pan for this one, because it will be too greasy.
Tips:
- Use fresh, high-quality ingredients: This will make all the difference in the taste of your meatloaf. Look for ground beef that is 80% lean or higher, and use fresh breadcrumbs, herbs, and spices.
- Don't overmix the meatloaf: Overmixing can make the meatloaf tough. Mix the ingredients just until they are combined.
- Shape the meatloaf into a loaf shape: This will help it cook evenly. You can also make individual meatloaves by forming the mixture into smaller balls or patties.
- Bake the meatloaf at a high temperature initially: This will help to brown the outside of the meatloaf and keep it moist inside. Then, reduce the temperature and continue baking until the meatloaf is cooked through.
- Let the meatloaf rest before slicing: This will help the juices to redistribute throughout the meatloaf, making it more tender and flavorful.
Conclusion:
Meatloaf is a classic comfort food that is easy to make and always a crowd-pleaser. With a few simple tips, you can make a delicious meatloaf that your family and friends will love. So next time you're looking for a hearty and satisfying meal, give meatloaf a try.
