EASY VEGAN BAKED BEANS

This is a less-sweet baked beans recipe that's better the second day. I really like the different flavor of this one. Although the recipe says to cover while cooking, I left it uncovered since it seemed juicier than I wanted. This was no problem and it did work to thicken them up. From Eden Organic Foods.

Tips:

  • Choose the right beans: Use dried cannellini or navy beans for the best texture and flavor. If using canned beans, rinse and drain them thoroughly before using.
  • Soak the beans: Soaking the beans overnight or for at least 8 hours will help them cook more evenly and reduce the cooking time.
  • Use a slow cooker: A slow cooker is a great way to make baked beans because it allows the flavors to develop slowly and evenly. Set the slow cooker on low for 8-10 hours or on high for 4-5 hours.
  • Add plenty of flavorings: Baked beans are a blank canvas for flavor, so don't be afraid to experiment with different seasonings. Some popular additions include onion, garlic, celery, carrots, bell peppers, tomatoes, molasses, brown sugar, mustard, and paprika.
  • Don't overcook the beans: Overcooked beans will be mushy and unpleasant. Check the beans after the cooking time is up and continue cooking if necessary until they are tender but still hold their shape.

Conclusion:

Vegan baked beans are a delicious and versatile dish that can be enjoyed for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. They are also a great source of plant-based protein and fiber. With a few simple ingredients and a little time, you can easily make a pot of vegan baked beans that will satisfy everyone at the table.
