Steps:
- Preheat oven to 475°F.
- Mix together all of the ingredients. Stir with a fork until thoroughly mixed. Do not over-work the dough.
- Shape this mixture into a ball and place it between two pieces of wax paper that have been dusted with flour. Roll the pastry into a circle large enough to fit in a 9-inch pie pan.
- Spray pan with a non-fat cooking spray and Arrange crust in pan. Cut off the edges that hang over.
- Prick the bottom with a fork and brush over with a little bit of beaten egg white. Bake 10 minutes or until golden brown. Cool before adding filling.
- It's probably a good idea to prebake it before using it in almost any recipe.
- Note: If you are making a pie where the filling needs to be cooked with the shell, simply bake at 350°F for 45 minutes or however long the recipe calls for. Work foil over edges while baking so the crust won't get overbrown. Remove foil for the last five minutes.

Tips:
- Choose the Right Fat: When selecting an alternative fat for your pie crust, consider its flavor, texture, and melting point. Butter, shortening, and lard are commonly used fats, but you can also experiment with coconut oil, olive oil, or Greek yogurt for a healthier twist.
- Keep the Ingredients Cold: Cold ingredients are key to a flaky pie crust. Keep your butter or other fat, flour, and water chilled before and during the mixing process. You can even chill your mixing bowl and utensils to ensure everything stays cold.
- Work Quickly: Handle the dough as little as possible to prevent the fat from melting. Use a pastry blender or two forks to cut the fat into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs. Avoid overworking the dough, as this can result in a tough crust.
- Chill the Dough: Before rolling out the dough, wrap it in plastic wrap and chill it for at least 30 minutes. This will help the fat solidify and make the dough easier to work with.
- Roll the Dough Evenly: When rolling out the dough, use a light touch and roll from the center outward. Keep rotating the dough as you roll to ensure even thickness. Avoid over-rolling, as this can make the dough tough.
- Trim and Crimp: Once the dough is rolled out, trim the edges to create a clean circle. Fold the edges under and crimp them to seal the crust. This will help prevent the filling from leaking out during baking.
- Pre-Bake the Crust: For a golden brown and crispy crust, pre-bake it before adding the filling. This will help to set the crust and prevent it from becoming soggy.
Conclusion:
Creating a delicious and flaky fat-free pie crust is possible with careful ingredient selection and technique. By using an alternative fat, keeping the ingredients cold, working quickly, chilling the dough, rolling it evenly, trimming and crimping the edges, and pre-baking the crust, you can achieve a perfect pie crust that complements your favorite fillings. Remember to experiment with different fats and techniques to find the combination that works best for you. With a little practice, you'll be able to create stunning and flavorful pies that impress your friends and family. Happy baking!
