Tips:

  • Chilling the dough: Chilling the dough before baking helps to create a more tender scone. If you're short on time, you can chill the dough for at least 30 minutes, but for best results, chill it overnight.
  • Using cold butter: Cold butter helps to create flaky layers in the scones. If you use room temperature butter, the scones will be more dense.
  • Don't overmix the dough: Overmixing the dough will make the scones tough. Mix the dough just until it comes together. If you overmix the dough, the scones may lose their rise.
  • Baking the scones: Bake the scones in a preheated oven. If the oven is not preheated, the scones may not rise properly.
  • Serving the scones: Serve the scones warm with butter, jam, or cream. You can also add a sprinkle of powdered sugar or cinnamon sugar to the top of the scones.

Conclusion:

Fennel seed scones are a delicious and easy-to-make treat. With a few simple tips, you can make perfect scones every time. So next time you're looking for a quick and easy snack or breakfast, give these fennel seed scones a try!
