  • What Really Makes This Recipe Sing: Allspice is one of those secret weapons in savory foods. You can't put your finger on it, but you know it is there. It was named by the English, because they thought it contained cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves. Shh, it is also the secret ingredient in Cincinnati-style chili.
  • What to toss in if you have it: Feel free to add some chopped fresh mint to this as well. Having a cocktail party? BYOC and makes these into mini's. Grab one before you serve because they will disappear fast.

GREEK-STYLE FETA AND OLIVE SPREAD (FOR BURGERS, STEAKS AND FISH)

Greek-Style Feta and Olive Spread (For Burgers, Steaks and Fish) image

This spread is so good on grilled steaks, pork and turkey burgers, I use it all the time topped on my salmon patties (recipe #155183) in between a bun. You can use it on just about anything! All the ingredients should be adjusted to taste. Plan ahead this needs to chill for a minimum of 5 hours, overnight is even better, this get stronger with chilling time, so be careful with the fresh garlic, it can be too overpowering in this spread if you make the mistake of adding in to much while making it... start with adding in a small amount and chill for about 3 hours if you feel that you want more garlic flavor then mix in more. You can add in salt, but the feta and olives are very salty.

Tips:

  • For the best flavor, use high-quality ground lamb. Look for lamb that is ground fresh at the butcher counter, or buy pre-packaged ground lamb that is labeled "ground lamb" or "ground lamb shoulder."
  • Don't overwork the lamb mixture. Overworking the meat will make the burgers tough. Mix the ingredients together just until they are combined.
  • Use a large skillet or griddle to cook the burgers. This will help prevent the burgers from sticking and will ensure that they cook evenly.
  • Cook the burgers over medium-high heat. This will help to create a nice crust on the outside of the burgers while keeping the inside juicy.
  • Don't flip the burgers too often. Flip the burgers only once, when they are cooked about halfway through.
  • Let the burgers rest for a few minutes before serving. This will help the juices to redistribute throughout the burgers, making them more tender and flavorful.

Conclusion:

Feta olive lamb burgers are a delicious and easy-to-make meal that is perfect for any occasion. The combination of lamb, feta cheese, and olives is flavorful and satisfying, and the burgers are sure to be a hit with everyone who tries them. So next time you're looking for a new burger recipe, give these feta olive lamb burgers a try. You won't be disappointed!
