Steps:
- Off heat, place cheese, tomatoes, olives, garlic, and crushed red pepper in large skillet. Stir, separating cheese pieces. Mix in chopped basil.
- Meanwhile, cook pasta in large pot of boiling salted water until just tender but still firm to bite. Drain, reserving 1/2 cup pasta cooking liquid.
- Add hot pasta and 1/4 cup reserved pasta liquid to skillet with cheese mixture. Place over medium heat and toss until cheese is partially melted and sauce coats pasta, adding more reserved pasta liquid by tablespoonfuls if dry, about 5 minutes. Season pasta to taste with salt. Transfer to large shallow bowl. Garnish with basil sprigs and serve.
Tips:
- Use fresh basil for the best flavor. If you don't have fresh basil, you can use dried basil, but be sure to use less, as it is more concentrated.
- If you don't have heavy cream, you can use milk or half-and-half instead.
- You can add other ingredients to this dish to taste, such as cooked chicken, shrimp, or vegetables.
- Serve this dish immediately, as the sauce will thicken as it cools.
Conclusion:
This fettuccini with basil and brie is a delicious and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for a weeknight meal. The creamy sauce is rich and flavorful, and the brie adds a touch of elegance. The fresh basil adds a pop of color and flavor, and the toasted walnuts add a crunchy texture. This dish is sure to please everyone at your table.
