Tips:

  • Choose large shrimp: For best results, use large shrimp (21-25 count per pound) for this recipe. They will be easier to peel and cook evenly in the foil packs.
  • Use fresh garlic and herbs: Fresh garlic and herbs like parsley and thyme add tons of flavor to the shrimp. If you don't have fresh herbs on hand, you can use 1/2 teaspoon dried herbs per 1 tablespoon of fresh herbs.
  • Don't overcrowd the foil packs: Make sure to leave some space between the shrimp and vegetables in the foil packs so that they cook evenly. If the packs are too crowded, the shrimp may not cook properly.
  • Seal the foil packs tightly: To prevent the juices from leaking out, make sure to seal the foil packs tightly. You can do this by folding the edges of the foil over several times.
  • Cook the foil packs over medium-high heat: This will help the shrimp cook quickly and evenly. If you cook the foil packs over low heat, the shrimp may not cook properly.
  • Check the shrimp for doneness before serving: The shrimp should be cooked until they are pink and opaque. You can check for doneness by inserting a toothpick into the thickest part of the shrimp. If the toothpick comes out clean, the shrimp are done.

Conclusion:

Garlic butter shrimp foil packs are a quick, easy, and delicious meal that is perfect for busy weeknights. They are also a great option for entertaining guests, as they can be prepared ahead of time and cooked on the grill or in the oven. So next time you are looking for a simple and flavorful seafood dish, give garlic butter shrimp foil packs a try.
