Tips:
- Using a food processor or pastry blender will help you achieve a more consistent and evenly mixed crust.
- If you don't have a food processor or pastry blender, you can use two knives to cut the butter into the flour mixture. Be sure to work quickly so that the butter doesn't melt.
- If the dough is too dry, add a little bit of ice water until it comes together. If the dough is too wet, add a little bit more flour until it is no longer sticky.
- Be sure to chill the dough for at least 30 minutes before rolling it out. This will help the crust to hold its shape better when baking.
- When rolling out the dough, be sure to use a lightly floured surface. This will prevent the dough from sticking.
- If the dough is too sticky to roll out, you can chill it for a few more minutes or even freeze it for a short period of time.
- When baking the crust, be sure to preheat the oven to the correct temperature. This will help the crust to bake evenly.
- If you are using a pie plate with a removable bottom, be sure to trim the excess dough from the edges of the plate before baking.
- Bake the crust until it is golden brown. The exact baking time will depend on the type of crust you are making and the temperature of your oven.
