Steps:
- Whisk 1/2 cup honey, vinegar, and vanilla in small bowl. Whisk crème fraîche and remaining 2 tablespoons honey in medium bowl to blend. (Glaze and crème fraîche mixture can be made 1 day ahead. Cover separately. Refrigerate crème fraîche mixture. Rewhisk both before using.)
- Prepare barbecue (medium-high heat). Brush nectarines generously with half of glaze. Grill until heated through, turning occasionally, about 4 minutes. Arrange 2 nectarine halves, cut side up, on each plate. Drizzle with remaining glaze. Spoon some crème fraîche mixture into center of each nectarine half and serve.
Tips:
- Choose firm fruits: Softer fruits, such as berries, are more likely to fall apart on the grill. Instead, opt for firmer fruits like peaches, pineapple, and watermelon.
- Cut fruits into uniform pieces: This will help them cook evenly.
- Use a grill basket: A grill basket can help prevent smaller pieces of fruit from falling through the grates.
- Preheat your grill: A hot grill will help to caramelize the fruits and prevent them from sticking.
- Brush the fruits with oil: This will help to keep them from drying out.
- Cook the fruits over medium-high heat: This will help to prevent them from burning.
- Flip the fruits frequently: This will help them to cook evenly.
- Remove the fruits from the grill when they are slightly tender: You don't want them to become too soft.
- Serve the fruits immediately: Grilled fruits are best enjoyed fresh off the grill.
Conclusion:
Grilled fruits are a delicious and healthy way to enjoy the summer harvest. They can be served as a side dish, dessert, or even breakfast. With a little bit of preparation, you can easily grill fruits at home. So fire up your grill and get started!
