KITTENCAL'S SIMPLE AND DELICIOUS SALMON SALAD SANDWICH

Kittencal's Simple and Delicious Salmon Salad Sandwich image

As like my recipe#116814 this is simple but big on flavor and also will work wonderful using cooked fresh cold leftover salmon in place of canned, once you taste this you will crave it all the time! ---plan ahead the salmon mixture needs to chill for at least 2 hours or more before using don't think about using it before that time the longer chilling time the better! --- two cans of salmon should give you three sandwiches but it will depend on how much salmon filling you use --- you may also add in 1/2 cup or more of finely chopped seeded cucumber if desired, all amounts may be adjusted to taste.

1 teaspoon freshly grated lemon zest
4 slices country-style bread, toasted

GRILLED SALMON SANDWICH

Grilled Salmon Sandwich image

Flat, wide fillets cut from the tail of the salmon work well for this open-face sandwich.

Provided by Martha Stewart

Categories     Food & Cooking     Ingredients     Seafood Recipes     Salmon Recipes

Number Of Ingredients 8

2 tablespoons dry mustard
3 tablespoons packed light-brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon soy sauce
1 tablespoon olive oil
4 salmon fillets, about 6 ounces each
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
1/2 bunch arugula, leaves slightly wet
4 slices sourdough bread, crusts trimmed

Steps:

  • Combine mustard and sugar in a small bowl. Stir in 1 1/2 tablespoons water. Add soy sauce and 1 teaspoon oil. Set aside.
  • Heat a grill or grill pan until very hot. Brush salmon with remaining oil; season with salt and pepper. Grill for 5 minutes, or until browned. Turn and cook for another 5 minutes, or to desired doneness.
  • Toast bread and place on plates. Top each with wilted arugula and a salmon fillet. Drizzle mustard sauce over top. Serve immediately.

Tips:

  • Choose high-quality salmon. Look for wild-caught salmon that is firm to the touch and has a vibrant color. Avoid salmon that is slimy or has an off smell.
  • Cook the salmon properly. Salmon is a delicate fish, so it is important to cook it carefully. Overcooked salmon will be dry and tough. Grill or bake the salmon until it is cooked through but still moist.
  • Use fresh, high-quality ingredients. The best salad sandwiches are made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. Use ripe tomatoes, crisp lettuce, and a flavorful dressing.
  • Don't skimp on the dressing. The dressing is what brings all the flavors of the salad sandwich together. Use a flavorful dressing that you enjoy.
  • Serve the salad sandwich immediately. Salad sandwiches are best enjoyed when they are fresh. Assemble the sandwich just before serving.

Conclusion:

The Grilled Salmon Salad Sandwich is a delicious and refreshing summer meal. It is perfect for a light lunch or dinner. With its flaky salmon, crisp vegetables, and flavorful dressing, this sandwich is sure to please everyone at the table.
