This is always a request during the holiday season. Those who are allergic to shrimp need to stay away!!! There was a girl at the office who ate lots of this and blew up like a balloon. She thought she had a small allergy to shrimp. Spent the next day in the hospital. But!! still it is always in high demand. After wayout2011 review the recipe has been updated to show pre-cooked shrimp is used. Thanks you for pointing out the error.

20 oz cream cheese -low fat works too
1-20oz pkg pre-cooked frozen baby shrimp, thawed
1/4 tsp garlic salt

Steps:

  • 3. Add to cheese mixture. Add garlic salt.

Tips:

  • Use fresh shrimp. Fresh shrimp has a sweeter, more delicate flavor than frozen shrimp. If you're using frozen shrimp, thaw it completely before using.

  • Use a variety of seasonings. Shrimp dip is a great way to use up leftover herbs and spices. Try adding some paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, or cayenne pepper to your dip.
  • Serve shrimp dip with a variety of dippers. Shrimp dip can be served with chips, crackers, vegetables, or bread. Try serving it with a variety of dippers so that your guests can choose their favorites.
  • Make sure your dip is chilled before serving. Shrimp dip is best served chilled. This will help the dip to set and will also prevent the shrimp from becoming overcooked.
