Categories     Sauces

Time 10m

Yield 1 bottle

Number Of Ingredients 6

1/2 cup raisins
2/3 cup Heinz ketchup
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 teaspoon seasoning salt
4 ounces applesauce
2 tablespoons Wish Bone Italian salad dressing

Steps:

  • Put all ingredients in a blender and blend on/off for 2 minutes on high or until smooth.
  • Keep chilled.

Tips:

  • Use ripe tomatoes for the best flavor. Roma tomatoes are a good choice because they have a low water content and are less likely to make your sauce watery.
  • Roast the tomatoes before making the sauce. Roasting the tomatoes concentrates their flavor and makes them sweeter. It also helps to remove some of the excess water, resulting in a thicker, more flavorful sauce.
  • Use a variety of spices to flavor the sauce. Common spices used in Heinz 57 sauce include onion powder, garlic powder, paprika, celery seed, and cayenne pepper. You can also add other spices to taste, such as cumin, oregano, or basil.
  • Simmer the sauce for at least 30 minutes. This will allow the flavors to meld and develop. The longer you simmer the sauce, the thicker and more flavorful it will become.
  • Taste the sauce and adjust the seasonings as needed. You may need to add more salt, pepper, or other spices to taste.
  • Serve the sauce with your favorite foods. Heinz 57 sauce is a great condiment for burgers, hot dogs, fries, chicken, and fish. It can also be used as a dipping sauce for vegetables or crackers.

Conclusion:

Heinz 57 sauce is a delicious and versatile condiment that can be used to add flavor to a variety of dishes. It is easy to make at home with just a few simple ingredients. With a little planning and effort, you can enjoy the taste of Heinz 57 sauce without ever having to leave your kitchen.
