HERBED CREAM CHEESE APPETIZERS

Herbed Cream Cheese Appetizers image

Cute little stuffed puff pastry rounds. These are great for summer parties, showers, etc. and you gotta love how easy puff pastry is. Vary the herbs to suit the occasion.

Provided by pines506

Categories     < 60 Mins

Time 45m

Yield 24 appetizers

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 (1 lb) package frozen puff pastry
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1/2 teaspoon mixed herbs
1/4 teaspoon seasoning salt
hot pepper sauce, just a few drops (optional)
1/2 cup sliced green pepper

Steps:

  • Thaw pastry sheets at room temperature for about 20 minutes before unfolding.
  • Place each rectangle on lightly floured board and cut out about 2 1/2 inch rounds with biscuit cutter.
  • Prick rounds with a fork and bake on an ungreased baking sheet at 350F for 18-20 minutes; cool.
  • While the puffs are baking, beat together the cream cheese, herbs, seasoned salt and hot pepper sauce until well combined.
  • When the pastry rounds are cool, slit through the middle but do not cut all the way through.
  • Spread the inside of the pastries with the cream cheese mix and sprinkle with green pepper.
  • Refrigerate until ready to serve.

Tips:

  • Choose fresh, crisp cucumbers: The fresher the cucumbers, the better the flavor of your cucumber rounds will be. Look for cucumbers that are deep green in color and have no blemishes.
  • Use a sharp knife to slice the cucumbers: This will help to ensure that the cucumber rounds are evenly sliced and have a clean, professional look.
  • Don't slice the cucumbers too thick: The ideal thickness for cucumber rounds is about 1/4 inch. This will allow them to cook evenly and will also make them easier to eat.
  • Soak the cucumber rounds in ice water before serving: This will help to crisp them up and make them even more refreshing.
  • Be creative with your toppings: You can use a variety of toppings to create different flavor combinations. Some popular options include herbs, cream cheese, smoked salmon, and caviar.

Conclusion:

Herbed cream cheese cucumber rounds are a delicious and refreshing appetizer that is perfect for any occasion. They are easy to make and can be customized to your liking. With a few simple ingredients, you can create a dish that is sure to impress your guests.
