Time 1h

Number Of Ingredients 13

CAKE
1 c sugar
1 c sifted cake flour
1 stick butter
4 large eggs
1 tsp each baking powder and vanilla
1 can(s) 16 oz hershey syrup
FROSTING
1 bar bakers sweet chocolate
1 Tbsp butter
1/4 c water
2 c powdered sugar more or less for desired consistency
1 tsp vanilla

Steps:

  • 1. Mix all ingredients for cake together in large bowl. Bake in 350 degrees oven in a greased 9 X 13 pan for 50 minutes. Cool completely
  • 2. For frosting melt the chocolate butter and water together on stove. Beat in the powdered sugar and vanilla. Spread on cooled cake

Tips:

  • Use room temperature ingredients. This will help the batter to come together smoothly and will result in a more evenly baked cake.
  • Do not overmix the batter. Overmixing can result in a tough, dense cake. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Bake the cake in a preheated oven. This will help the cake to rise evenly and prevent it from sinking in the middle.
  • Do not open the oven door during baking. This can cause the cake to fall.
  • Let the cake cool completely before frosting it. This will help the frosting to set properly and will prevent it from melting.
