Yield 2 cocktails

Number Of Ingredients 6

Juice of ½ lemon (2 T.)
1 T. lemonade concentrate
1 jigger (1 ½ oz.) whiskey, preferably Jameson
½ cup fresh-squeezed orange juice
1 T. Grenadine syrup
Ice

Steps:

  • Combine all the ingredients in a cocktail shaker and shake until ice cold. Pour into stemmed glass and garnish with a sprig of mint. *The Irish colors of orange and green are represented in this drink.

Tips:

  • Use fresh lemon juice for the best flavor. If you don't have fresh lemons, you can use bottled lemon juice, but it won't be as good.
  • If you don't have simple syrup, you can make your own by dissolving 1 cup of sugar in 1 cup of boiling water. Let the syrup cool completely before using.
  • If you want a sweeter sour mix, add more simple syrup. If you want a tarter sour mix, add less simple syrup.
  • You can use any type of Irish whiskey you like. If you're not sure what to choose, ask your local liquor store for recommendations.
  • Garnish your whiskey sour with a lemon twist or a cherry.

Conclusion:

The Irish whiskey sour is a classic cocktail that is easy to make and delicious to drink. With its perfect balance of sweet, sour, and boozy flavors, it's a great choice for any occasion.
