Tips:

  • Use ripe tomatoes: The riper the tomatoes, the sweeter and more flavorful your tiger butter will be.
  • Choose the right onions: Sweet onions like Vidalia or Walla Walla work best, but you can use yellow or white onions if that's all you have.
  • Don't be afraid to add heat: A little bit of heat from chili peppers or cayenne pepper can really brighten up the flavor of tiger butter.
  • Use a variety of spices: Garlic, cumin, salt, sugar and pepper are all classic spices that work well in tiger butter. But you can also experiment with other spices like ginger, allspice, or cinnamon.
  • Cook it low and slow: Tiger butter should be cooked over low heat for a long period of time to allow the flavors to develop and deepen.
  • Let it cool completely before serving: Tiger butter is best served cold, so let it cool completely before storing it in the refrigerator.

Conclusion:

Tiger butter is a delicious and versatile condiment that can be used in a variety of ways. It's perfect for spreading on sandwiches, topping burgers, or using as a dipping sauce for chicken or fish. It's also a great way to use up ripe tomatoes and onions. So next time you're looking for a new and exciting condiment to try, give tiger butter a try. You won't be disappointed!
