KRAFT BLUEBERRY PIE WITH TAPIOCA

Kraft Blueberry Pie With Tapioca image

Printed on the back box of Kraft Minute Tapioca and found on the Kraft site, this was the first berry pie recipe I ever tried when I was a teenager. Since that time the recipe has never failed me. Usually I use a variety of locally grown berries in addition to or in place of the blueberries: marionberries, raspberries, strawberries, blackberries, etc. Berry season here in Oregon is quickly approaching and we are anxious to start cooking with them again! I've also subbed brown sugar for part of the white sugar and used vanilla extract for almond. This is a very forgiving recipe. I searched high and low all over Recipezaar to see if this recipe were posted and by all accounts it is not. That surprises me considering this recipe has been around for ages! You will need a double crust to prepare the pie. Last year, we enjoyed the pie topped with this: Recipe #298399

Provided by COOKGIRl

Categories     Dessert

Time 1h5m

Yield 1 berry pie

Number Of Ingredients 8

4 cups fresh blueberries, stemmed and washed (read Intro)
1 cup unbleached white sugar
1/4 cup minute tapioca ("instant")
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice (in a bind, I've used lime and orange juice)
1/2 teaspoon almond extract (my addition)
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 prepared double pie crust
1 tablespoon butter

Steps:

  • Prepare the pie crust and place the bottom crust in a 9-inch pie pan.
  • PREHEAT oven to 400°F.
  • Toss blueberries (and other berries if using) with sugar, tapioca, lemon juice, almond extract and cinnamon until evenly coated.
  • Let stand 15 minutes.
  • Fill the pie pan with the berry mixture.
  • Dot top of pie with butter.
  • Cover top with second pie crust.
  • Seal and flute edge. Cut several slits in top crust to allow steam to escape.
  • BAKE 45 to 50 minutes or until juices form bubbles that burst slowly.
  • Cool about 10 minutes before slicing.
  • Serve with ice cream, whipping cream, etc.

SLOW-COOKER LASAGNA (BY KRAFT)

Slow-Cooker Lasagna (By Kraft) image

I never thought I'd ever make lasagna in a slow cooker! This is exceptional! I did opt to use my own spaghetti sauce, but there isn't anything wrong in using the bottled. I just prefer mine. I used the same amounts. You may choose to use some Italian sausage along with the ground beef. If so, just remove the casing from the sausage, break it up and cook it right along with the ground beef. **Note** You may want to check your lasagna after about 3 1/2 hours, don't cook it too long. Note* 12/2014 Sorry Kraft, I use parmesan that I grate myself. You can do as you please.

KRAFT FOIL PACKET SOUTHWESTERN CHICKEN DINNER

Kraft Foil Packet Southwestern Chicken Dinner image

This is a quick, healthy meal that isn't time consuming to prepare and easy to clean up! To prevent rice from sticking to the foil, spray foil with cooking spray before using. Or, use nonstick foil. If the chicken breast halves in your market are larger than 4 oz. each, they will take longer to cook. Be sure to cook them long enough so that they are no longer pink in the centers and the juices run clear (170°F).

KRAFT CARAMEL APPLE PIE RECIPE

Kraft Caramel Apple Pie Recipe image

Provided by ukiahgal67

Number Of Ingredients 9

Crumb Topping:
6-8 apples, peeled and sliced
26 Kraft caramels (vanilla)
2 tbsp. water
1 (9 inch) deep dish pie crust or graham cracker crust
1 stick butter, softened
3/4 c. flour
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon

Steps:

  • Place sliced apples in pie crust. In small pan, melt caramels and water over very low heat. Stir until smooth. Pour melted caramels over apples. With fork, combine butter, sugar, flour, and cinnamon until mixture forms crumbs. Sprinkle over pie. Place pie on baking sheet and bake at 350 degrees for 50 - 60 minutes. Let cool 3-4 hours.

Tips:

  • Mise en place: Before you start cooking, make sure you have all the ingredients and equipment you need. This will help you stay organized and avoid scrambling.
  • Use fresh, high-quality ingredients: The better the ingredients, the better the dish will taste. If possible, buy organic and local produce.
  • Season your food well: Salt and pepper are essential to good cooking. Don't be afraid to add other spices and herbs to taste.
  • Cook food to the proper temperature: Use a food thermometer to ensure that meat, poultry, and fish are cooked to a safe internal temperature.
  • Don't overcrowd the pan: When cooking meat or vegetables, don't overcrowd the pan. This will prevent them from cooking evenly.
  • Let meat rest before carving: When you cook a roast or steak, let it rest for a few minutes before carving. This will help the juices redistribute and make the meat more tender.
  • Garnish your dishes: A simple garnish can make a big difference in the presentation of your dishes. Try using fresh herbs, citrus zest, or grated cheese.

Conclusion:

Cooking is a skill that takes time and practice to master. But with a little effort, you can create delicious meals that will impress your family and friends. The recipes in this article are a great place to start. So get in the kitchen and start cooking!
