BAILEY'S IRISH CREAM AND MACADAMIA NUT PIE

Bailey's Irish Cream and Macadamia Nut Pie image

I have no idea where I got this recipe, but it is always a hit and it's super easy. Update: Recently I decided to bring this to a party and wanted it to be more like finger food, so I used a biscuit cutter to make little pie shells and tucked them gently into a mini-muffin tin (using a fork to poke the bottom), then I placed 4 chocolate chips in each one and poured the rest of the mix over them until nearly full. They were a HUGE hit!

6 . 3 tablespoons cold water
7 . 2 teaspoons unflavored gelatin
3 . For the Topping
1 . 3/4 cup whipping cream, chilled

For the Filling: In a large bowl, whisk together the first four ingredients. 11. Pour 3 tablespoons cold water into a small metal bowl and sprinkle the gelatin over. 12. Let stand 10 minutes, or until the gelatin softens. 13. Set bowl over a small saucepan of barely simmering water and whisk until gelatin dissolves completely, about 1 minute. 14. For the topping: Combine the cream and 2 tablespoons powdered sugar in a medium bowl. 18. Beat until stiff peaks form. 19. Spoon or pipe onto cut serving pieces. Garnish with lime zest.

Tips:

  • Use fresh, high-quality ingredients. This will make a big difference in the flavor of your pie.
  • Toast the macadamia nuts before adding them to the pie. This will help to bring out their flavor and make them more crunchy.
  • Don't overbeat the pie filling. Otherwise, it will become too thick and dense.
  • Blind-bake the pie crust before adding the filling. This will help to prevent it from becoming soggy.
  • Bake the pie at a high temperature for the first 15 minutes, then reduce the temperature to finish baking. This will help to create a golden brown crust.
  • Let the pie cool completely before serving. This will allow the flavors to develop and the pie to set properly.

Conclusion:

Macadamia pie is a delicious and versatile dessert that can be enjoyed year-round. Whether you're looking for a classic recipe or something more unique, there's sure to be a macadamia pie recipe that you'll love.
