1/4 lb butter
2 lbs lean ground beef
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 cups onions, chopped
1 green pepper, chopped
2 (15 ounce) cans tomato sauce
4 ounces mushrooms, sliced (or use canned)
1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, grated
1 tablespoon chili powder
2 teaspoons sharp paprika (not sweet)
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground pepper
1/2 cup dry sherry

Steps:

  • Brown onions, garlic and green pepper and mushrooms if using fresh, in butter.
  • Remove and set aside, brown ground beef.
  • Add Seasoning, onion mixture, tomato sauce, sherry and macaroni and mushrooms if using canned.

Tips:

  • Use high-quality ingredients: Fresh eggs, flavorful cheese, and cooked macaroni will make a big difference in the taste of your scramble.
  • Don't overcook the eggs: Macaroni scramble is best when the eggs are cooked through but still fluffy. Overcooking will make them tough and rubbery.
  • Add your favorite mix-ins: Diced vegetables, cooked bacon or sausage, and shredded cheese are all great additions to macaroni scramble. Get creative and experiment with different flavors.
  • Season to taste: Salt and pepper are essential for seasoning macaroni scramble, but you can also add other spices or herbs to taste. Garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika are all good options.
  • Serve immediately: Macaroni scramble is best served fresh out of the pan. If you need to make it ahead of time, you can reheat it gently in a skillet over low heat.
