Time 20m

Yield 4 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 6

2 mangoes, peeled and sliced
1/4 cup lime juice
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1 envelope unflavored gelatin
3 tablespoons sugar
1/2 cup reduced-fat sour cream

Steps:

  • In a food processor, puree the mangoes with the lime juice and ginger.
  • In a small bowl, sprinkle the gelatin over 1/4 cup water.
  • Let stand for 5 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, in a small saucepan, combine the sugar and 1/4 cup water, and bring to a boil.
  • Stir the gelatin into the sugar mixture and cook, stirring for 1 minute.
  • Add the sugar-gelatin mixture to the mango puree and process until well combined.
  • Add the sour cream; process briefly.
  • Spoon into dessert bowls, cover and refrigerate for 2 hours.
  • Serves 4.

Tips:

  • Use ripe, juicy mangoes for the best flavor.
  • Chill the mango puree and cream before making the mousse. This will help it set up properly.
  • Beat the cream until stiff peaks form. This will help the mousse be light and fluffy.
  • Fold the whipped cream into the mango puree gently. Overmixing can cause the mousse to deflate.
  • Chill the mousse for at least 4 hours before serving. This will allow it to set up completely.
  • Serve the mousse with fresh fruit, such as berries or mango slices, or with a dollop of whipped cream.

Conclusion:

Mango fool mousse is a delicious and refreshing dessert that is perfect for any occasion. It is easy to make and can be tailored to your own taste preferences. Experiment with different flavors of fruit puree, such as strawberry, raspberry, or passion fruit, to create your own unique mousse.
