MOCHA JAVA SMOOTHIE

Mocha Java Smoothie image

This delicious smoothie comes from Ellie Krieger's "So Easy" Cookbook. I make it for my teen daughter to take with her on her way to school. I really have to whir the blender to get the frozen bananas incorporated, so next time I plan to cut my bananas into smaller chunks before I freeze them. I also halved the recipe and still came out with two decent sized smoothies. I think a full recipe would make three large smoothies.

Tips for Making the Perfect Mocha Java Smoothie

  • Use high-quality coffee. The coffee is the star of this smoothie, so it's important to use a good one. Choose a dark roast coffee with a strong flavor that will hold up well in the smoothie.
  • Brew your coffee strong. You want the coffee flavor to be prominent in the smoothie, so brew it strong. If you're using a drip coffee maker, use 2 tablespoons of coffee grounds for every 6 ounces of water. If you're using a French press, use 1 tablespoon of coffee grounds for every 4 ounces of water.
  • Chill your coffee before making the smoothie. This will help to make the smoothie cold and refreshing.
  • Use frozen bananas. Frozen bananas give the smoothie a thick, creamy texture and a sweet flavor. You can also use fresh bananas, but they won't be as thick and creamy.
  • Add some yogurt. Yogurt adds creaminess and protein to the smoothie. Choose a plain or vanilla yogurt that you like the taste of.
  • Add some milk. Milk helps to thin out the smoothie and make it more drinkable. You can use any kind of milk you like, but almond milk or oat milk are good choices for a vegan smoothie.
  • Add some chocolate syrup. Chocolate syrup adds a rich, chocolatey flavor to the smoothie. You can use store-bought chocolate syrup or make your own.
  • Add some vanilla extract. Vanilla extract adds a subtle sweetness and flavor to the smoothie.
  • Blend until smooth. Blend all of the ingredients together until they are smooth and creamy. You may need to stop and stir the mixture a few times to make sure that everything is blended evenly.

Conclusion

The mocha java smoothie is a delicious and refreshing way to start your day or cool down on a hot afternoon. It's also a great way to get your daily dose of caffeine and antioxidants. With its rich chocolate flavor and creamy texture, the mocha java smoothie is sure to become a favorite.
