MOIST NORTHERN CORNBREAD (CORNBREAD BUTTERMILK)

Moist Northern Cornbread (Cornbread Buttermilk) image

I wanted a moist, tender recipe and this one fits the bill. My own twist on a classic recipe. It's even great the next day! You can find the powdered buttermilk in the baking isle at Wal-Mart or your favorite grocery store. It keeps a long time and is a great kitchen essential. TIP: Spray cast iron pan with non-stick spray and place in the oven for 5-10 minutes. Pour in cornbread until cups are 2/3 full. Cooks in half the time and tastes even better!

Tips:

  • Use fresh ingredients: Fresh buttermilk, cornmeal, and eggs will give your cornbread the best flavor and texture.
  • Preheat your oven: Make sure your oven is fully preheated before you put the cornbread in. This will help to ensure that it cooks evenly.
  • Don't overmix the batter: Overmixing the batter will make the cornbread tough. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Bake the cornbread in a hot oven: A hot oven will help to create a crispy crust on the cornbread.
  • Let the cornbread cool slightly before serving: This will help to prevent it from crumbling.

Conclusion:

Cornbread is a delicious and versatile side dish that can be enjoyed with a variety of meals. Whether you like it sweet or savory, there's a cornbread recipe out there for everyone. With a little practice, you'll be able to make perfect cornbread every time.
