This is best if left to soak overnight, but it can be ready in 30 minutes if you like chewy oats. Be sure to use old-fashioned rolled oats, because quick oats tend to be mushy.

Yield 6

Number Of Ingredients 12

Combine:
3 Cups Rolled Oats
2 Cups Milk (whole or whatever % you prefer)
1/2 Cup Plain Greek Yogurt
2 Tablespoons Sugar
2 Tablespoons Honey
1/2 Cup Walnuts or Pecans
1/2 Cup Raisins or Dried Fruit
Serve With:
1 Cup Fresh Berries
1 Apple, diced
2 Cups Milk

Steps:

  • Add all the ingredients except the fresh fruit to a Tupperware container with an airtight lid and refrigerate overnight. To serve, spoon into individual serving bowls, top with berries, diced apple and a splash of milk.

Tips:

  • Choose the right oats: Steel-cut oats are the least processed and have a chewy texture, while rolled oats are more common and have a softer texture. Quick oats and instant oats are more processed and cook faster, but they have a softer texture and less flavor.
  • Use a variety of ingredients: Muesli is a versatile dish, so feel free to add your favorite fruits, nuts, and seeds. Some popular additions include berries, bananas, apples, almonds, walnuts, and chia seeds.
  • Add some sweetness: If you like your muesli a little sweeter, you can add honey, maple syrup, or brown sugar. You can also use dried fruits, such as raisins or cranberries, to add some natural sweetness.
  • Make it creamy: If you prefer a creamier muesli, you can add yogurt, milk, or almond milk. You can also add a dollop of peanut butter or almond butter for extra creaminess and flavor.
  • Enjoy it warm or cold: Muesli can be enjoyed warm or cold. If you prefer it warm, you can heat it up in the microwave or on the stovetop. If you prefer it cold, you can simply let it sit overnight in the refrigerator.

Conclusion:

Muesli is a healthy and delicious breakfast option that is easy to make and can be tailored to your own preferences. With its variety of ingredients and flavors, muesli is a great way to start your day.
