FRENCH SILK PIE WITHOUT EGGS

French Silk Pie without Eggs image

This is a beautiful, fluffy French silk Pie. Garnishing it with extra whipped cream and chocolate curls makes it fabulous! I recently made one for a pie auction and it sold for $65.00! Yes, it really is that tasty. I've been making this pie by memory for years, so I have no idea of the recipe's origin. For a higher, more impressive pie, whip 1 extra cup of whipping cream and add it to the top of the pie, before garnishing with shaved chocolate.

Tips:

Choose the freshest ingredients. The quality of your ingredients will directly impact the taste of your pie. Use the freshest eggs, cream, and chocolate you can find. Don't overbeat the egg yolks. Overbeating will cause the yolks to become thick and curdled. Beat them just until they are light and fluffy. Use a double boiler to melt the chocolate. This will help prevent the chocolate from burning. Chill the pie for at least 4 hours before serving. This will allow the flavors to meld and the pie to set properly. Serve the pie with fresh berries or whipped cream. This will add a delicious finishing touch.
