8 tablespoons unsalted butter, at room temperature
3/4 cup sugar
1 cup light brown sugar, firmly packed
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 large eggs
1 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

2 cups chopped pecans
2 teaspoons freshly grated orange zest

Add both sugars, salt, and vanilla, and beat until well mixed, about 3 minutes. Stir in eggs, one at a time. Sift together the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and clove in a separate bowl. Add half of the flour mixture to the butter with the mixer on low speed. Once the flour has been incorporated, add the second half. Stir in the oats, pecans, orange zest, and chocolate chips. Drop the dough, by the tablespoon, onto the cookie sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden. Remove from the oven and cool the cookies on a rack. Store at room temperature in a cookie jar or other airtight container.

Tips and Conclusion

To ensure the best results when making Oatmeal, Chocolate Chip, and Pecan Cookies, follow these tips:

  • Use old-fashioned oats. They will provide a chewier texture than quick-cooking oats.
  • Toast the oats before using them. This will enhance their flavor and give the cookies a slightly nutty taste.
  • Use a combination of brown and white sugar. Brown sugar will add a richer flavor and moisture to the cookies.
  • Don't overmix the dough. Overmixing will result in tough cookies.
  • Chill the dough before baking. This will help the cookies hold their shape and prevent them from spreading too much.
  • Bake the cookies until they are just set. Overbaking will make them dry and crumbly.

These Oatmeal, Chocolate Chip, and Pecan Cookies are a delicious and easy-to-make treat that everyone will love. They are perfect for any occasion, from a casual snack to a special dessert.

In conclusion, these cookies are sure to be a hit with everyone who tries them. They are a delicious and easy-to-make treat that can be enjoyed by people of all ages.
