1/2 cup mascarpone cheese, at room temperature
1/4 cup fresh squeezed orange juice (from 1 large orange)
Zest of 1 large orange
3 cups powdered sugar3 tablespoons whole milk, plus more if needed
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1 stick unsalted butter, at room temperature
Orange food coloring, as needed
Two 12-ounce bags bittersweet (70 percent) chocolate chips
5 tablespoons safflower oil

  • For the cake: Place an oven rack in the center of the oven. Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F. Spray an 11- by 8-inch rimmed baking sheet with cooking spray.
