Beat in eggs 1 at a time, then vanilla and 1/4 cup caramel sauce. Beat in half of dry ingredients, then sour cream, then remaining dry ingredients.
  • Spoon batter evenly over apples. Bake cake until tester inserted into center comes out clean, about 1 hour 15 minutes. Cool cake in pan 5 minutes.
  • Cut around cake; remove pan sides. Cool cake 15 minutes longer. Place platter atop cake; invert cake onto platter. Remove pan bottom and foil. Replace any dislodged apples. Rewarm remaining caramel sauce. Serve cake warm or at room temperature with sauce.

Tips:

  • To make sure the pasta is cooked perfectly, follow the package instructions for boiling time. Overcooking can make the pasta mushy and ruin the texture of the dish.
  • Use high-quality raisins for the best flavor. Look for plump, juicy raisins that are free of stems and blemishes.
  • Don't skimp on the butter or sugar for the caramelized apple topping. These ingredients are what give the topping its rich, delicious flavor.
  • If you don't have a kitchen torch, you can caramelize the sugar on the apples under the broiler. Just watch them closely so they don't burn.
  • Serve the pasta pudding warm, topped with the caramelized apples. You can also garnish it with a sprinkle of ground cinnamon or nutmeg.

Conclusion:

Pasta pudding with caramelized apple topping is a classic comfort food that is perfect for any occasion. It's easy to make and can be customized to your own taste. Whether you serve it as a main course or a dessert, this dish is sure to be a hit.
