CRANBERRIED STEAK SAUCE ( PAULA DEEN )

Cranberried Steak Sauce ( Paula Deen ) image

Ms. Paula H. Deen strikes again! Paula's suggestion is to serve it hot or cold with beef, chicken or pork. I imagine it would also be awesome with duck and venison.

Provided by Mercy

Categories     Sauces

Time 10m

Yield 2 cups

Number Of Ingredients 5

1 (16 ounce) can jellied cranberry sauce
1/3 cup prepared steak sauce (like A1 or Heinz 57)
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
2 teaspoons prepared mustard (2 to 3 teaspoons-yellow, Dijon or spicy brown)

Steps:

  • Combine all the ingredients together and whisk or beat with an electic mixer until smooth.

Tips:

  • Use fresh cranberries: Fresh cranberries have a brighter flavor and a firmer texture than frozen or canned cranberries.
  • Don't overcook the cranberries: Overcooked cranberries will become mushy and lose their flavor. Cook them just until they pop and start to soften, about 10 minutes.
  • Add sugar to taste: The amount of sugar you add to the cranberry sauce is a matter of personal preference. Start with 1 cup of sugar and add more to taste, if desired.
  • Use a variety of spices: To add depth of flavor to the cranberry sauce, use a variety of spices, such as cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and allspice.
  • Let the cranberry sauce cool before serving: This will allow the flavors to develop and the sauce to thicken.
  • Serve the cranberry sauce warm or cold: Cranberry sauce can be served warm or cold. If you are serving it warm, reheat it gently over low heat until warmed through.

Conclusion:

Paula Deen's cranberry sauce is a delicious and easy-to-make side dish that is perfect for Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner. With its bright flavor and festive color, it is sure to be a hit with your family and friends.
