PEAR, POMEGRANATE & PROSECCO COCKTAIL

Pear, Pomegranate & Prosecco Cocktail image

Got this from a magazine. It is so summery! Light and refreshing, a must try!

Provided by Cindee Vett

Categories     Cocktails

Time 10m

Number Of Ingredients 5

1 1/2 c pear nectar
1/2 c pomegranate juice
2 c prosecco, chilled
pomegranate seeds
4 champagne flutes

Steps:

  • 1. In a large pitcher, mix together pear nectar, pomegranate juice and prosecco. Place pomegrante seeds evenly in the bottom of the 4 champagne flutes. Fill each glass with the cocktail and serve.
  • 2. Prosecco is a sparkling, dry, white Italian wine.

Tips:

  • Choose ripe pomegranates: Look for pomegranates with deep red skin and no blemishes. The fruit should feel heavy for its size.
  • Remove the seeds easily: Cut the pomegranate in half and hold it over a bowl of water. Use a spoon to scoop out the seeds. The seeds will sink to the bottom of the bowl, while the pith and membrane will float to the top.
  • Use fresh pomegranate juice: Fresh pomegranate juice is the best choice for cocktails. You can make your own juice by juicing the seeds in a juicer or blender.
  • Add a splash of citrus: Citrus fruits, such as lemon or lime, can help to brighten up the flavor of pomegranate cocktails. A squeeze of citrus juice or a twist of citrus zest can add a refreshing touch.
  • Experiment with different spirits: Pomegranate cocktails can be made with a variety of spirits, including vodka, gin, rum, and tequila. Choose a spirit that you enjoy and that you think will pair well with the other ingredients in the cocktail.

Conclusion:

With its vibrant color, sweet-tart flavor, and versatility, pomegranate is a great fruit to use in cocktails. Whether you're looking for a refreshing summer sipper or a festive holiday drink, there's a pomegranate cocktail out there for everyone. So next time you're looking for something new to try, reach for a pomegranate and get creative!
