But we find the lightly dressed salad is amazing and a great accompaniment to meat. Sprinkle with the salt right before serving; that pop of flavor and crunch is so good. Finishing salt is a must for this salad.

  • Choose the freshest romaine lettuce: Look for leaves that are crisp, brightly colored, and free from blemishes.
  • Wash the romaine lettuce thoroughly: Rinse the leaves under cold water to remove any dirt or debris.
  • Dry the romaine lettuce thoroughly: Use a salad spinner or pat the leaves dry with a clean kitchen towel.
  • Tear the romaine lettuce into bite-sized pieces: This will make it easier to eat and mix with other ingredients.
  • Add a variety of toppings: Romaine lettuce is a versatile green that can be paired with a wide variety of toppings, such as croutons, bacon, cheese, nuts, and seeds.
  • Use a light dressing: A heavy dressing can overwhelm the delicate flavor of romaine lettuce. Try a simple vinaigrette or lemon-tahini dressing.
