1 small onion (diced)
3 stalks celery (diced)
2 garlic cloves (minced)
1 can chicken broth (14.5 ounce)
1 can cream of celery soup*
1 cup uncooked rice
1/4 cup slivered almonds

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a medium-sized skillet over medium-high heat add the sausage and cook halfway. Add the onion, celery, and garlic and continue to cook until the vegetables are tender and the sausage is no longer pink.
  • Add the sausage to a 2-quart casserole dish. In a small bowl, whisk together the chicken broth and cream of celery. Add the rice to the sausage and soup. Mix together until incorporated. Top with slivered almonds. Cover tightly with aluminum foil and bake for 60 minutes. Let rest for 10 minutes before serving.

1 pound sage-flavored pork sausage
1 cup sliced celery
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/4 cup chopped sweet red pepper
1/4 cup chopped green pepper
1/2 cup fresh mushrooms, sliced
1 can (8 ounces) sliced water chestnuts, drained
1 cup converted rice, uncooked
2 cups chicken broth
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon ground pepper

Steps:

  • Brown sausage in a heavy skillet over medium heat; transfer sausage to a 2-1/2-qt. greased casserole dish. In the sausage drippings, saute celery, onion, peppers and mushrooms until lightly browned; transfer to prepared dish. Add water chestnuts, rice, broth and seasonings; mix well. Cover tightly and bake at 350° for 1 to 1-1/2 hours or until rice is fluffy and tender.

1 lb bulk sausage
1 cup onion, chopped
1 garlic clove, minced
1 cup celery, chopped
1 green pepper, chopped
1 cup rice, uncooked and washed
1 (10 1/2 ounce) can cream of mushroom soup
1 (10 1/2 ounce) can cream of chicken soup

Steps:

  • Preheat oven at 350°.
  • Brown sausage in frying pan and pour off grease.
  • Add chopped onion, garlic, celery, and green pepper to sausage and simmer until tender.
  • In bowl combine rice and soups and then add cooked ingredients.
  • Pour into greased Pyrex pan.
  • Bake 1 1/2 hours at 350°, stirring occasionally.

After twisting his/her arm, finally I got the recipe (a bit overstated here)! It is simple, consists of commonly available ingredients. And will be a keeper, I promise!

1 lb sausage or 1 lb Italian sausage
1 cup green bell pepper, chopped
1 cup celery, chopped

1/2-3/4 cup water
