ROASTED ASPARAGUS WITH SESAME SEEDS AND SESAME OIL

Roasted Asparagus with Sesame Seeds and Sesame Oil image

Categories     Roast     Asparagus     Sesame Oil

Number Of Ingredients 0

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven or toaster oven to 400°F. For roasting, I prefer medium rather than slender spears so they don't dwindle to nothing. Trim about an inch from the bottoms, then peel the bottom halves of the spears. Arrange the spears on a lightly oiled baking pan and drizzle with sesame oil. Sprinkle with sesame seeds. Roast until tender and lightly browned, stirring occasionally, 10 to 15 minutes.

Tips:

  • To ensure even cooking and prevent the asparagus from becoming mushy, roast the spears in a single layer on a baking sheet.
  • For a more intense flavor, use a combination of olive oil and sesame oil to roast the asparagus.
  • Add a sprinkle of salt and pepper to the asparagus before roasting for a simple yet delicious seasoning.
  • If you like a bit of heat, sprinkle some red pepper flakes or chili powder over the asparagus before roasting.
  • To add a touch of sweetness, drizzle the roasted asparagus with a balsamic glaze or honey.
  • Roasted asparagus can be served as a side dish, an appetizer, or even as a main course when paired with a protein like grilled chicken or salmon.

Conclusion:

Roasted asparagus is a versatile and delicious dish that can be enjoyed in many different ways. With its simple preparation and endless flavor possibilities, it's a perfect choice for a quick and healthy meal. Whether you're a seasoned chef or a beginner in the kitchen, you'll find that roasted asparagus is a dish that you'll love making again and again.
