Tips:

  • Use fresh or frozen pecans. Fresh pecans will give you the best flavor, but frozen pecans will work in a pinch. If using frozen pecans, thaw them completely before using.
  • Don't overmix the batter. Overmixing will make the biscuits tough. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Chill the dough before rolling it out. This will help the biscuits stay tender and flaky.
  • Bake the biscuits until they are golden brown. This will ensure that they are cooked through.
  • Serve the biscuits warm with butter and honey. This is the classic way to enjoy pecan crisps.

Conclusion:

Pecan crisps are a delicious and easy-to-make Southern treat. With just a few simple ingredients, you can create a batch of these flaky, buttery biscuits that are perfect for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. So next time you're looking for a sweet and satisfying snack, give pecan crisps a try. You won't be disappointed!
