Tips:

  • Use cold butter and cream cheese. This will help the cookies hold their shape and prevent them from spreading too much in the oven.
  • Don't overmix the dough. Overmixing will make the cookies tough. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Chill the dough for at least 30 minutes before baking. This will help the cookies keep their shape and prevent them from spreading too much in the oven.
  • Use a cookie press to shape the cookies. This is the easiest way to get uniform cookies. If you don't have a cookie press, you can use a piping bag or a spoon to shape the cookies.
  • Bake the cookies until they are just set. The cookies should be firm around the edges but still soft in the center. Overbaking will make the cookies dry and crumbly.
  • Let the cookies cool completely before decorating. This will help the frosting set properly.

Conclusion:

Swedish Spritz cookies are a delicious and festive treat that are perfect for any occasion. They are easy to make and can be decorated in a variety of ways. Spritz cookies are also a great way to use up leftover egg whites.

Here are some additional tips for making Swedish Spritz cookies:

  • If you don't have a cookie press, you can use a piping bag or a spoon to shape the cookies.
  • You can use any type of frosting to decorate the cookies.
  • Spritz cookies can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
