Steps:
- 1. Preheat oven to 350 degree
- 2. Spread your turkey or chicken into an ungreased 13×9 baking dish. Cover with the vegetables. Stir together soup, sour cream and all but a 1/2 cup of cheese, and spread mixture over the vegetables. If using leftover stuffing add this as the next layer in your casserole. If using a stuffing mix, stir together the mix and 3/4 hot water and sprinkle this over top of the soup/cream cheese/ cheese mixture. Spread the remaining cheese evenly to the top of casserole and bake for 40 - 45 minutes or until nice and bubbly.
Tips:
- Use a variety of vegetables in your casserole to add flavor and texture. Good options include carrots, celery, onions, peas, corn, and green beans.
- Cook the vegetables until they are tender but still have a little bit of crunch. You don't want them to be mushy.
- Use a creamy sauce to bind the casserole together. You can use a simple white sauce, a cheese sauce, or a gravy.
- Add some cooked meat to the casserole for protein. Chicken, turkey, ham, or sausage are all good options.
- Top the casserole with a crispy topping, such as breadcrumbs, crushed crackers, or grated cheese.
- Bake the casserole in a preheated oven until it is bubbly and hot.
Conclusion:
Thanksgiving leftover casserole is a great way to use up all of your leftover turkey, vegetables, and stuffing. It's a delicious and easy-to-make dish that the whole family will enjoy. So next time you have a lot of leftovers, don't let them go to waste. Make a Thanksgiving leftover casserole instead!
