I threw together this cheese omelet with some leftover ingredients I had laying around. It was easy to make and very delicious, so I thought I would post it. Garnish with more parsley and diced tomato.

Time 20m

Yield 1

Number Of Ingredients 12

1 tablespoon olive oil
2 tablespoons red onion, diced
1 clove garlic, minced
3 eggs, whisked
1 tablespoon shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
1 tablespoon shredded mozzarella cheese
1 tablespoon part-skim ricotta cheese
3 cherry tomatoes, diced
2 teaspoons chopped fresh parsley
1 teaspoon chopped fresh basil
1 teaspoon onion powder
salt and ground black pepper to taste

Steps:

  • Heat olive oil in a medium saucepan over medium-low heat. Add red onion and garlic; cook and stir until garlic begins to brown, about 2 minutes. Pour eggs into the pan and distribute evenly to make a omelet. Sprinkle Cheddar cheese and mozzarella cheese on top. Dollop small portions of ricotta cheese onto the omelet.
  • Cook omelet until edges start to harden, 1 to 2 minutes. Add tomatoes, parsley, and basil. Add onion powder; season with salt and pepper. Cook until eggs are set, 3 to 4 minutes.
  • Run a spatula under the omelet and lift; fold in half and transfer to a plate.

Tips:

  • Use fresh ingredients: The fresher your ingredients, the tastier your omelet will be. This is especially true for the eggs, cheese, and vegetables.
  • Don't overbeat the eggs: Overbeaten eggs will make your omelet tough. Just whisk them until they are well-blended.
  • Cook the omelet over medium heat: This will help to prevent the eggs from burning and will give you a more evenly cooked omelet.
  • Be patient: Don't rush the cooking process. An omelet takes a few minutes to cook through. If you try to rush it, you'll end up with an undercooked omelet.
  • Don't overcrowd the pan: If you're making a large omelet, use a large pan. Overcrowding the pan will make it difficult to cook the omelet evenly.
  • Add your fillings at the end: This will help to prevent them from overcooking.
  • Serve the omelet immediately: An omelet is best served hot.

Conclusion:

The three-cheese omelet is a delicious and versatile dish that can be enjoyed for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. With a few simple tips, you can make a perfect omelet every time. So next time you're looking for a quick and easy meal, give the three-cheese omelet a try.
