Tips:
- Choose the right glass: Use clear glass trifle bowls or individual glasses to showcase the layers of your trifle.
- Layer it up: Start with a layer of cake or ladyfingers, then add a layer of fruit, then a layer of custard or pudding, and so on. Repeat the layers until the glass is full.
- Use fresh fruit: Fresh fruit adds a pop of color and flavor to your trifle. Berries, peaches, and bananas are all great choices.
- Make your own custard or pudding: Homemade custard or pudding will give your trifle a richer flavor than store-bought options.
- Don't overmix: Be gentle when folding the whipped cream into the custard or pudding. Overmixing will make the mixture too runny.
- Chill before serving: Trifle is best served chilled. This will help the layers set and the flavors to meld together.
