1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt (optional)
3 cups Quaker® Oats (quick or old fashioned, uncooked)
1 cup raisins

Steps:

Cool 1 minute on cookie sheets; remove to wire rack. Cool completely. Store tightly covered.

Tips:

  • Use quick-cooking oats. These will absorb more liquid and result in a softer cookie.
  • Don't overmix the dough. Overmixing will make the cookies tough.
  • Chill the dough for at least 30 minutes before baking. This will help the cookies hold their shape and prevent them from spreading too much.
  • Bake the cookies at a moderate temperature. This will help them bake evenly without burning.
  • Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack. This will help them set and prevent them from breaking.
