1 cup butter, softened
3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
2 large eggs, room temperature
1 teaspoon maple flavoring
2-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
2 cups white baking chips
1 cup chopped pecans
MAPLE GLAZE:
1/3 cup butter, cubed
1-3/4 cups confectioners' sugar
1/3 cup maple syrup
1/4 teaspoon maple flavoring

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°. In a large bowl, cream butter and sugars until light and fluffy, 5-7 minutes. Beat in eggs and maple flavoring. In another bowl, whisk flour, baking soda and salt; gradually beat into creamed mixture. Stir in baking chips and pecans., Drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls 2 in. apart onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake 10-12 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on pans 2 minutes. Remove to wire racks to cool completely. , For glaze, in a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Remove from heat. 5 3/4 cups plus 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour, plus more for dusting
3 tablespoons cornstarch
1/2 teaspoon fine sea salt
1 pound (4 sticks) plus 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, at room temperature
1 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup maple syrup
4 large egg yolks
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Zest from 1/2 lemon
Whole milk, for brushing
Colored sanding sugar, for decorating

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, cornstarch and salt. Set aside.
