Time 10m

Yield 4 glasses, 4 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 5

3 cups cubed seedless watermelon
1 cup crushed ice
1 cup sherbet (watermelon, raspberry or lime)
4 teaspoons lime juice
2 teaspoons semisweet mini chocolate chips

Steps:

  • Chill the glasses if you'd like to really impress your guests and if impressing isn't important, you can skip this step!
  • Combine all but the chips in a blender; process for 30 seconds; scrape sides & stir if necessary.
  • Pour mixture into (un)chilled glasses; sprinkle chips and serve.
  • Viola! You are soooo cool!
  • And now I am too!

Tips:

  • Use frozen watermelon: Freezing the watermelon beforehand helps achieve a thick and creamy sherbet-like texture without diluting the smoothie with ice.
  • Adjust the sweetness: Taste the watermelon before adding honey or other sweeteners. Some watermelons are naturally sweeter, so you may not need any additional sweetener.
  • Add yogurt for creaminess: If you prefer a creamier smoothie, add Greek yogurt or coconut yogurt. Yogurt also adds protein and healthy fats.
  • Use fresh mint or basil: Fresh herbs like mint or basil add a refreshing touch to watermelon smoothies.
  • Garnish with watermelon cubes or mint leaves: Garnish the smoothies with fresh watermelon cubes or mint leaves for a pop of color and flavor.
  • Make it a popsicle: Pour the smoothie mixture into popsicle molds and freeze for a refreshing summer treat.

Conclusion:

Watermelon sherbet smoothies are a delicious and refreshing way to enjoy watermelon. They are easy to make, require minimal ingredients, and can be customized to your liking. Whether you prefer a classic watermelon flavor or want to add other fruits or herbs, these smoothies are a great way to cool down and satisfy your sweet cravings.
