Time 15m

Number Of Ingredients 4

1 lb fresh cranberries
1 large naval orange, quartered (remove seeds, but do not peel)
2 c granulated sugar
1/4 c whiskey (jack daniels)

Steps:

  • 1. Using food processor, coarsely chop cranberries and orange.
  • 2. Add sugar; process again to combine.
  • 3. Place in covered container and chill for 24 hours.
  • 4. Stir in whiskey just before serving.

Tips:

  • Choose fresh cranberries: Fresh cranberries have a brighter color and tarter flavor than frozen or canned cranberries. If you're using frozen cranberries, thaw them completely before using.
  • Use a sharp knife: A sharp knife will make it easier to cut the cranberries and prevent them from getting crushed.
  • Don't overcook the cranberries: Overcooked cranberries will become mushy and lose their flavor. Cook them just until they start to burst.
  • Add the whiskey at the end of cooking: Adding the whiskey too early will cause it to evaporate and lose its flavor. Stir it in just before serving.
  • Serve the relish warm or cold: Cranberry relish can be served warm or cold. If you're serving it warm, let it cool slightly before serving. If you're serving it cold, chill it for at least an hour before serving.

Conclusion:

Whiskey spiked cranberry relish is a delicious and versatile dish that can be enjoyed in many different ways. It's perfect for Thanksgiving dinner, Christmas dinner, or any other holiday gathering. It can also be used as a condiment for pork, chicken, or turkey. No matter how you choose to serve it, whiskey spiked cranberry relish is sure to be a hit!
