WHITE CHOCOLATE HAZELNUT CHEESE BALL

White Chocolate Hazelnut Cheese Ball image

My Friend Cindy and I have been collecting recipes that are in the shape of a ball. One day we were naming all kinds of food. We started laughing so hard she had to excuse herself to the restroom and I was trying to breathe. So every time I see a recipe to add to our list I send it to her. We say we could write a cookbook of food shaped into balls.

Tips:

  • Choose quality white chocolate: Opt for a high-quality white chocolate with a smooth, creamy texture that melts easily.
  • Roast hazelnuts for deeper flavor: Roasting the hazelnuts intensifies their nutty flavor and makes them more fragrant.
  • Chop hazelnuts finely: Finely chopped hazelnuts distribute evenly throughout the balls and prevent large chunks.
  • Use a food processor for convenience: If you have one, a food processor makes quick work of chopping the hazelnuts and combining the ingredients.
  • Chill the balls before dipping: Chilling the balls firms them up and makes them easier to handle when dipping in chocolate.
  • Temper the white chocolate: Tempering stabilizes the chocolate, giving it a smooth, glossy finish and preventing it from becoming dull or grainy.
  • Use a double boiler or microwave to melt the chocolate: Either method can be used to melt the chocolate, but a double boiler is recommended for more precise temperature control.
  • Dip the balls quickly and evenly: Quickly dip each ball into the melted chocolate, ensuring it is fully coated, and then remove it to allow the excess chocolate to drip off.
  • Place the balls on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet: This prevents the balls from sticking to the pan and makes them easy to transfer.
  • Refrigerate the balls until firm: Refrigerate the balls for at least 30 minutes, or until the chocolate has fully set.

Conclusion:

These white chocolate and hazelnut balls are a delightful treat that combines the smooth, creamy taste of white chocolate with the nutty crunch of hazelnuts. With just a few simple ingredients and some basic techniques, you can create these elegant and delicious confections at home. Whether you enjoy them as a sweet treat or gift them to loved ones, these white chocolate and hazelnut balls are sure to impress.
