This recipe is so easy to make. My family loves them. I got the recipe from "Fat Witch Bakery Cookbook." Enjoy....

Time 40m

Number Of Ingredients 9

8 Tbsp unsalted butter, melted and cooled
1 1/4 c packed light brown sugar
2 large eggs
1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract
1 c unbleached flour
1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 c butterscotch chips
1/2 c semisweet chocolate chips

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 350. Grease and flour a 9x9 baking pan. Cream the sugar, eggs, and vanilla in a medium bowl until smooth. Add the cooled butter and mix until well blended. Measure the flour, salt and baking powder and sift directly into the batter. Gently mix the batter until well combined and no traces of flour remain. Stir in the butterscotch and chocolate chips. Spread batter into prepared baking pan. Bake for 20-25 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean or with crumbs. Cool for 1 hour. Cut into 12 or 16 squares.

I'm not a huge fan of butterscotch, but I really enjoyed these bars. They're the perfect balance of sweet and salty.

I loved the flavor of these bars, but they were a little too dense for my taste. I think I'll try using a different recipe next time.

These bars were a disappointment. They were too sweet and the butterscotch chips were too hard.

I'm not sure what went wrong, but my bars turned out dry and crumbly. I followed the recipe exactly, so I'm not sure what happened.

I've never been a big fan of butterscotch, but these bars changed my mind. They're so rich and decadent, I can't get enough of them.

I tried making these bars gluten-free by using almond flour instead of all-purpose flour. They turned out great! I'm so glad I can still enjoy this delicious treat.
