Chili Chocolate Cupcakes image

I found this recipe on a blog called Cupcake Bakeshop, which is now closed. I haven't tried it yet, but wanted to save it for safe-keeping. It calls for a specialty item, ground pequin chilies, but I will be using chipotle chili powder, as I already have that. Top with Chili Chocolate Ganache Frosting, which I will post seperately.

I followed the recipe exactly, but my cupcakes didn't turn out as moist as I would have liked. They were still good, but I think I'll try a different recipe next time.

I was hesitant to try these cupcakes because I'm not a big fan of chili, but I'm so glad I did! The chili flavor is very subtle, and it actually pairs really well with the chocolate. These cupcakes are now one of my favorites.
